a masterclass in fashion photography & creative direction
the course i wish i had when diving into fashion photography
all the moments where i thought “why did no one tell me this before?!” packed into one self-paced masterclass.
we start at the beginning: building a signature and visual identity that is uniquely yours.
that means, understanding what you want to be known for and communicating that with clients, agencies and press.
we continue our journey through the actual tools that make that identity come to life. the camera’s, the editing, the intersection of analog and digital,
the software, and to work or not to work with AI.
once we have your visual universe sharp and your working tools sorted, it’s time to create a portfolio. one that you feel proud to send to big clients, one that stands
out from the others. and not to hide anything here, it’s unpaid, and it’s exactly what will get you paid soon after.
we finish with what gets you paid for doing what you love. we talk everything money, starting with the fact that you do deserve to invoice respectable amounts
of money for what you’ve built. even early into your career. even if you just changed directions.
ultimately, we create your client strategy. in other words, get a “yes” from the clients you’ve been dreaming of for years. getting booked AND paid, by clients that will
drive your career in the direction you want it to.
in short, this masterclass can make you skip years of trial-and-error, unpaid work, reinventing yourself for the 8th time.
together, we launch you towards the heart of the photography industry.
- a tangible portfolio with a crisp and distinctive visual identity to pitch yourself to clients.
- confidence in leveraging the tools, skills and techniques to create that unique visual universe you’re proud of.
- the inside information on how to get contacts and paid campaigns with brands you dream of working with.

some notes from the inbox
absolutely, indeed a part of the masterclass is about getting your first paid clients, but there’s many other modules about creating a strong and distinctive visual identity, building a network within your dream branche, and building a convincing portfolio to land the right clients for your goals. so this masterclass is still developed for photographers who already have experience.
also, if the previous paid work wasn’t entirely into the branche that you want to work with going forward, this masterclass will guide you to getting paid shoots with brands you actually want to work for.
the masterclass principles and skills are still relevant for photographers outside of fashion and related fields. we go over building your own brand and signature, getting booked by the right clients, and technical skills, which are all valuable regardless of the subject you have in front of your camera. if you’re unsure, just reach out to me through nelebogaerts@gmail.com so we can discuss this together :)
yes! the masterclass explains the use of different photography methods and edits to create your visual identity, so that means you select the tools that work for you. i myself like to work analog, but i do also loads of shoots digital only. i edit my digital work to also hold a analog atmosphere (i discuss how that works in module 2). if analog, or analog looking images, are not your thing that’s okay, because the masterclass teaches principles, not just a way to replicate what i do. you learn to create your visual signature with the tools that you like to work with.
the masterclass is self-paced, meaning you can go through the modules whenever it fits into your schedule. in total there’s 14 modules, which combined are 20hours of education to go through.
i’d recommend 1 or 2 modules per week, and some extra time to apply what you’ve learned to your practice, eg. looking up references, researching clients, reviewing your previous work if relevant.
the masterclass is a one time investment of 599 euro excl. vat, which gives you access as long as the course exists. no hidden costs.
yes! you can also split your payment over 4 months, at €155/month excl. vat. simply select the payment plan option at checkout.
no this is a one-time fee. after that i will not charge you again for the masterclass, even if there are modules updated or added.
yes! you’ll automatically receive access to a downloadable invoice after your purchase.
as this is a digital product, it is not possible to ‘return’ your purchase. that means all sales are final. however if you feel like there’s a big mistake going on within this masterclass, please contact nelebogaerts@gmail.com so we can understand your issue better and see what we can do.
for now, live sessions or in-person sessions are not included in the masterclass. if there would be a live session with me, it will be announced on the masterclass newsletter (to which you can subscribe here).
yes, in person sessions can be booked by emailing nelebogaerts@gmail.com and are priced at 299 euros/hour excl. vat
i decided to build this masterclass after being invited as guest tutor at my photography school. i noticed how the students appreciated the advice i gave during their photoshoots, brainstorming sessions and editing sprees.
they’d ask me “why don’t they teach this in school?” and i hate to say the annoying thing: “it comes from experience”.
i recognized my younger self in the students, those super ambitious to make this career work, but more questions and no network to ask. so i decided to pack my experience into a masterclass.
of course, i had been thinking about how i can expand my career in the photography industry besides being a fashion photographer, so sharing my invaluable and hard learned lessons into a masterclass to help ambitious photographers get ahead faster in their early careers seemed like a win-win situation.
i’ve now been working five years in this industry, and have worked with clients like Agmes NYC, Ormaie Paris, Enso, Abate Oslo, Lesse,... , done campaigns in over ten countries, and have 2 print campaigns published in L’Officiel. i jumped into this world straight after finishing my photography degree in 2021. i remember my intense desire to make this career work, so i used to send 200+ emails to brands every single week. i’d do an insane amount of portfolio work every. single. week. i’d do editing marathons through the night. i’d basically push push push myself into every room i could possibly go. i got rejected on a daily basis. i definitely overworked hard in the first two-three years but it gave me the insights that would usually take many more years to learn. i made SO many mistakes along the way, but no one warned me about them, and even less about what to do instead. but now i can tell you everything the industry didn’t tell me, so you don’t have to find everything out yourself, like me.
no, once you’ve purchased this masterclass you don’t pay additional fees for updates to the course material. however, if a completely new masterclass gets launched (for example on a different subject), it will be required to purchase access.
to ensure this masterclass is super valuable for you, i’d advise you take some kind of photography course first. this could be a formal degree, a local beginners course, or learning the basics yourself online. you don’t need to be a professional photographer just yet, but having done some photoshoots + editing (even just at home or with friends) is best to understand the challenges we will tackle.
this is because this course will not spend time on how digital and analog cameras, lights, and related tools work, nor do we go over basic editing skills. a foundational understanding is necessary to get the most out of the masterclass.
of course, if you’ve purchased the masterclass, you have lifelong access so nothing stops you from enrolling into the course while learning the basics, and coming back to the material when you are ready for it.
